Trading Valuation Guide

Learn how to accurately value your crops and pets for fair trading in Grow A Garden.

Basic Valuation Principles

1. Base Value Foundation

Every crop has a base value that serves as the starting point for all calculations. This is the minimum value without any mutations or boosts.

2. Mutation Multipliers

Mutations multiply the base value. Multiple mutations stack multiplicatively, not additively. A Silver (×5) + Gold (×20) = ×100 total multiplier.

3. Friend Boost Impact

Friend boosts are applied as a percentage increase after mutation multipliers. A 20% friend boost on a ×100 mutation = ×120 effective multiplier.

Valuation Formula

Final Value = Base Value × Mutation Multipliers × (1 + Friend Boost %)
Example: Sunflower (Base: 100) with Gold (×20) and 15% friend boost
= 100 × 20 × 1.15 = 2,300 value

Common Trading Scenarios

Scenario 1: Basic Crop Trading

ItemBase ValueMutationsFinal ValueTrade Ratio
Sunflower100Silver (×5)5001:1
Rose150None1503.3:1

In this case, 1 Silver Sunflower = 3.3 regular Roses (500 ÷ 150 = 3.33)

Scenario 2: High-Tier Mutations

Rainbow Mutation Trading
• Rainbow mutations (×50) are extremely valuable
• Consider rarity and availability in your area
• Factor in the time investment to obtain the mutation
• Always verify the mutation is legitimate before trading

Scenario 3: Pet Valuations

Pet Level Considerations
Higher level pets require exponentially more XP. Factor in the time and resources invested when trading leveled pets.
Pet Abilities
Some pets have special abilities that provide ongoing benefits. These should be valued higher than their base stats suggest.

Trading Best Practices

✓ Do This

  • • Use our calculator to verify values
  • • Screenshot mutation proofs
  • • Consider market demand
  • • Factor in rarity and availability
  • • Be transparent about boosts used

✗ Avoid This

  • • Trading without calculating values
  • • Accepting “trust me” on mutations
  • • Ignoring friend boost differences
  • • Rushing into high-value trades
  • • Forgetting about quantity scaling

Market Factors

Supply & Demand

Even with identical calculated values, market forces affect real trading prices. Popular crops or rare mutations may trade above their calculated value.

Seasonal Events

Special events may temporarily increase demand for certain items. Factor in event timing when making trades.

Server Differences

Different servers may have varying economies. What’s common on one server might be rare on another.
